Why can’t wood products be sustainable?

There are many opinions surrounding the sustainability factor in wood materials.

Why are high-quality wood products from developed countries sustainable while products from some countries in Asia are not?

The sustainability of wood products is determined by what factors?

Why is it not sustainable?

The same is the use of wood materials, why are some products said to use sustainable materials, while others are not? Isn’t the wood material the same?

All those questions will be answered by only 1 factor: the origin of the wood.

In European countries, all wood materials used to make products are derived from FOREST WOOD. That regulation is so strict that, without using materials that are sourced and certified to be harvested from the FOREST, the wood products cannot be traded. This becomes the first principle and condition for making wood products.

This principle is created by the awareness of protecting the environment and nature that is already present in the conception of both manufacturers, traders and customers, users of wood products. Because NATURAL FOREST is not exploited just to serve human consumption needs. NATURAL FOREST plays an important role in the entire ecosystem and creates the life of creatures on Earth, including humans. With reforestation, people can continue to produce wood products, plan and properly exploit valuable wood resources to serve human life.

In Asian countries, we are somewhat aware of the importance of using sustainable wood materials from PLANT FOREST to make wood products. But the habit of attaching importance to NATURAL FOREST wood of customers has partly been ingrained in the thought that cannot be quickly changed, causing manufacturers to still have to choose NATURAL FOREST WOOD materials to make products. This has led us to many serious ecological consequences from indiscriminate exploitation and destruction of NATURAL FOREST without planning to regenerate forests. The consequences of this action are too serious, more and more serious: Floods, Droughts, Crop failure, Climate change and it is we who suffer the most.

At the beginning of the journey, UTIOR has put on their own shoulders a big burden, that is, not using NATURAL FOREST wood materials for all products. We use forest wood materials, certified for origin and quality – FSC.

Creating for ourselves a belief and responsibility towards the community made the journey more difficult, but it was that spark that led us on the right path and can now confidently share the results with our partners. and customers, who will accompany UTIOR on the way to restore the works that require the highest quality and highest level.
